Resident Evil 4 Coming To The iPhone in July
July 15, 2009 by tcgames · Leave a Comment
We know, we were shocked too! Well, maybe not shocked, considering that Resident Evil 4 popped up on the Japanese App Store before it was pulled right down. The game will return (legitimately this time) to Japan by month’s end.
If you’re nowhere near the Land of the Rising Sun, fear not! Capcom says the game will roll out to the rest of the world soon after.
Aqua Moto Racing Hits the iPhone/iPod Touch
January 19, 2009 by tcgames · Leave a Comment
You don’t need a Wii, PS3, or Xbox 360 to enjoy Aqua Moto Racing, just an iPhone / iPod Touch. It features 3D graphics and accelerometer tilt controls. Pricing has not yet been announced. Video after the break.
Right now we have basically no deatils on this title, but the gameplay video looks rather promising and we wanted to send a heads up out to the iPhone / iPod touch gaming community.

iPhone App Review: LEGO Batman: Gotham City Nights
January 10, 2009 by tcgames · Leave a Comment
Alyse Wax over at blogcritics.org has a review of the much talked about iPhone/iTouch game…
Continuing the popular LEGO series of video games, you can now play LEGOs on your iPhone. Well, kind of. LEGO Batman: Gotham City Games capitalizes on the franchise by developing a version for your pocket.
Gotham City Games is a collection of mini-games. The literature claims 16 different games, but many of these games are the same games, just with different themes. There are two modes: story mode and free play mode. In story mode, there is a weak story about defeating the villains of Gotham, told in comic panels. I stopped reading them because they were borderline nonsensical. In free play mode, you can scroll around a 3D map of Gotham and choose games at will. Most must be unlocked first in story mode.
Games are a mixed bag of classics and more specialized, including a shell game, pinball, bowling, skeet shooting, sliding puzzle, and a boxing-themed, Simon-esque game (you watch the pattern and repeat it). There’s also “Plug the Leaks” , in which a system of pipes keep springing leaks and you must place your fingers over the leaks until they stop or you will drown.
Other mini-games include “Fear in the Sky”, which has you piloting the Batwing though a field of enemy planes. Use the accelerometer to maneuver the Batwing. A fatal flaw in this game is that you cannot control your own firing – it fires automatically, which makes it hard to fight off the near-solid wall of enemy planes. “Bomb Surprise” has The Scarecrow dropping Jack o’ Lantern-shaped LEGO heads. You must tilt the iPhone side to side, maneuvering the paddle to catch the bombs and protect your force fields. For “Batarang Skill Shot” you tilt the iPhone left or right to guide your Batarang through targets. In “Helicopter Getaway” you guide the Joker’s helicopter through the skies while collecting Lego studs and avoiding stacks of bricks and police choppers.
Control response for each games varies. The accelerometer games are far more responsive than the touch games (especially the shooting ones). Graphics are great with their bright colors and smooth animations. It’s very stylized – LEGO meets Batman meets neon (everything has a weird, glowy neon quality to it). It’s cute stuff, but honestly doesn’t have a lot of replayability. The games themselves are not particularly innovative. They are good for maybe a half-hour total play time. I tried playing some of the games a few weeks after my initial play time, and couldn’t make it through a single game.

Lego Batman For Your iPhone & iPod Touch
Buying an iPhone was one of the best purchases I’ve made this past year. I love the apps available (I really like the free ones). Lego Batman is a game that I’ve been wanting to play. It’s more of a curiousity thing along with the memories of Legos from my youth. Warner Bros. Digital Distribution announced that “Lego Batman: Gotham City Games” is available for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
The game has 16 mini games and is developed by TT Games, the same studio that developed the console title. It is available from the iTunes App Store for $5.99 (which is a limited time holiday price). You can get it here. That’s almost the same price of a comic book (these days). Here’s more information:
Players put their skills to the test through 16 classic, stylized mini games that lead them deep within Wayne Manor. Along the way, players pilot the LEGO Batwing and solve some of The Riddler’s most mind bending puzzles. Each challenge is linked together by a brand new story, shown through stunning, hand rendered cut scenes, backed by a full orchestral soundtrack.
Some of the challenges include:
Batarang Skill Shots: Players master the Batarang and take out as many villains as possible.
Batwing Pursuit: In this third person vertical shooter mini-game, players pursue the Scarecrow’s bi-plane using the Batwing.
Bane Boxing: Bane loves training hard and likes nothing better than a good workout on his beloved body. In this game players memorize a sequence of attacks to the bag and replicate them through tapping their finger on each area of the bag at the right time.
The Riddler’s Maze Game: In this game players select where The Riddler will end up. A number of exits are presented and only one is correct. Players then touch the one they think is correct to see if they can escape!
Once players master the game to become a True Hero or True Villain, they unlock bonus content including never before seen artwork, trailers and wallpapers. The wallpapers can then be saved into the player’s iPhone or iPod Touch picture library and used to identify callers or to spruce up the background of their phone.

Metal Gear Solid Touch Revealed for iPhone
December 17, 2008 by tcgames · Leave a Comment
Solid Snake’s next adventure will sidestep the “Xbox 360 versus PlayStation 3″ debate by appearing on neither platform; instead, Konami’s anthropomorphized Cold War allegory will be sneaking his way onto Apple’s iPhone.
Metal Gear Solid Touchis scheduled for release in Spring 2009, reports Kotaku. The game is a completely original adventure set in the latter-day world of Metal Gear Solid 4(read: Snake is a geriatric), and consists of 8 stages.
What would a Metal Gear Solidgame be without unlockable content? Earning bonus points through gameplay will allow players to download special Metal Gear-themed iPhone wallpapers.
No price has been established for the title, though we expect to hear more details from Konami soon.
