Milla Jovovich Talks Resident Evil 4

Milla Jovovich is promoting The Perfect Getaway, but is also talking about Resident Evil 4: Afterlife, which starts shooting later this year. She has confirmed that her husband, Paul WS Anderson, will direct as well as produce, and that he’s reasearching 3D techniques in order to shoot this chapter in the format. She’s also given a bit of info about what we’ll be likely to see, storywise, and it sounds like Jovovich will be busy, if nothing else. Why? “The clones are definitely in it,” she tells Bloody Disgusting.
“Let’s just say this. The clones are definitely in it. You’ve got multiple Alice’s kicking serious butt. And definitely the real Alice has some pretty major things happen to her that change the stakes a little bit. That’s probably all I can give you in a vague sort of way. It’s definitely going to be a different Alice than who we’re used to…There’s the clones and it’s going to be a lot of work. I’m gonna be working every day for the next four months on this and it’s gonna be bigger than ever. It’s super-exciting.”
For the 3D work, Anderson is going with the folks that brought James Cameron’s Avatar into the third dimension. Avatar is always a good name to drop these days, especially when you’re focusing on the tech side of things, but that doesn’t really mean anything beyond the fact that, yes, the new Resident Evil will be in 3D.
I do like Jovovich’s statement about making the film; it’s easy to look down on another Resident Evil movie (I’ve certainly done so, and probably will again) but there’s always the business angle to consider. For whatever reason, these movies make money. “You know what, every two years I get a steady job and as an actor [and] that’s a huge relief. Then I get to do all my little independent movies that no one sees. I get more versatile things for myself.” Boilerplate ‘one for them, one for me’ angle, sure, but valid nonetheless.
Resident Evil 4 Now Available For iPhone

Remember that super-polished version of Resident Evil 4 we saw strutting its stuff on iPhone? Well, it’s available right now for purchase in the App Store — and suspiciously smushed down to 37.3 MB. While the game sits on the pricier side of the app spectrum (and is missing elements from the console versions), anything called "Resident Evil 4" is almost impossible for us to resist.
Almost.

We know, we were shocked too! Well, maybe not shocked, considering that Resident Evil 4 popped up on the Japanese App Store before it was pulled right down. The game will return (legitimately this time) to Japan by month’s end.
If you’re nowhere near the Land of the Rising Sun, fear not! Capcom says the game will roll out to the rest of the world soon after.

I know many of you have been eagerly anticipating the release of Resident Evil 5′s playable demo, so consider this a friendly reminder that Xbox 360 owners can now snag the nearly half gigabyte test drive to see if it lives up to the hype.
Many of you are already aware of methods through which American gamers could enjoy the Japanese demo that was released across the Pacific weeks ago, but the steps that process entails are generally too complex for the average person.
Now however, prospective zombie slayers merely need log onto the Xbox Live Marketplace, find Resident Evil 5 in the list of games, and click through to the “Download Demo” section.
Though the demo is currently an Xbox 360 “exclusive,” PlayStation 3 gamers will be able to download their version of the RE5 demo next week.

The story takes place seven years after the main game storyline and reunites the characters Leon (Paul Mercier) and Claire (Alyson Court). The first eight minutes are available without restrictions, although the next three minutes are age-restricted due to the graphic violence.
