Joss Whedon Working On ‘Dollhouse’ Role For Summer Glau

With “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” terminated, the door is open for former “Firefly” actress and Mutant Enemy alum, Summer Glau to guest star on Joss Whedon’s new series, “Dollhouse.”
“If anybody thinks [bringing Summer onto 'Dollhouse'] hasn’t occurred to me already, then they have not met me,” Whedon said. “I mentioned it to her before ['Sarah Connor'] was canceled. I was like, ‘You know, we should get you in the ‘house.’ But first we have to come up with something that works.”
And Whedon says the role he’d like to see her play isn’t necessarily a new doll.
“Summer would be perfect to play an active, but she’s done that [type of role] a lot,” Whedon told Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello. “I’d rather see her play someone who talks too much. The most fun I have is when I get somebody who’s good and comfortable at doing something, and then I make them do something else. Summer said to me, ‘I would like to play a normal girl before I die of extreme old age.”
Fox Cancels ‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles?’

It appears that Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will get the axe after two seasons on Fox. "It’s done," a source tells Entertainment Weekly. "Everyone has pretty much known for a couple of weeks."
Another insider shovels just as much dirt: "Consider it canceled."
Fox, on the other hand, says no decision has been made on the fate of the show, which aired its season (and possibly series) finale last Friday. We’ll know for sure no later than May 18th, when Fox unveils its Fall 2009 schedule, but don’t bet on the ratings-troubled sci-fi show coming back for a third season.

Summer Glau, one of the most successful stars of such hugh sci-fi favs as “Firefly,” “The 4400,” and the film “Serenity,” as well as the current Fox series “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” is jumping networks for one night on March 9th and moving to CBS.
Glau will be a guest star on the hit CBS nerd-heaven sitcom “The Big Bang Theory,” which stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar and series irregular Sara Gilbert.
The boys (and Penny) are aboard a train in one of their many-faceted discussions, this one centering on what their chances would be to run into their geeky heart-throb actress Summer Glau, who just happens to be on the same train.
The CBS show has turned into a real ratings czar for the Eye Network (this week’s paint-ball episode garnered the largest ratings to date) starting its Monday night lineup of sitcoms that include “How I Met Your Mother,” “Two in a Half Men” and “Rules of Engagement,” all big hits for CBS.
The March 9th episode of “The Big Bang Theory” with Summer Glau will be titled “The Terminator Decoupling.”
Summer Glau Teams With Joss Whedon Again For Short Film

Summer Glau is to reunite with Joss Whedon for a short film entitled The Serving Girl.
The actress and ballerina worked with director Whedon in Angel, Firefly, and Serenity.
He has since been working on a short film which can show off the dancing ability of the Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles star, reports MTV.
Production is on hold until both can find a suitable gap in their schedules.
“We’ve both very dedicated to the concept, and it is the next kind of dream for something to do, but it’s like working with any other artist. If they’re good, they’re very often busy, and you gotta wait,” Whedon said.
“We’ve been waiting to do this for years,” Glau added. “But when you’re on a series, you live there, and that’s all we do. So we’re going to have to wait until the next hiatus, but that’s not even that far away, so keep your fingers crossed.”
